Resource Pool
The central resource pool captures that resource types and names that can be assigned to projects.
How it works
The Resource Types table captures the resource types that can be assigned to projects with current headcount and associated cost data. The resource availability factor defines the average amount of time that a person of this resource type can spend working on the projects in the system and is used in combination with headcount to calculate resource availability. For example a design engineer may have most of his or her time available to work on projects and their availability factor may be 80-100%. However, a marketing representative will have other departmental responsibilities, so their availability factor to support projects might only be 30%.
The Resources by Name table captures similar resource and cost data for each individual person. It also allows adjusting a person’s availability for one or more time periods when special projects are assigned or a person is less available or unavailable for extended periods.
